Who - कौन / किसने (Asks about a person)

{Acts as the subject of the sentence}

Examples: Who is that woman?

                  वह औरत कौन है?

                Who opened the door?

                 दरवाज़ा किसने खोला?

Whom - किसे / किसको /किससे  (Asks about a person) 

{Acts as the object of the sentence}

Examples: Whom did you meet?

                  तुम किससे मिले?

                Whom did he marry?

                 उसने किससे शादी की?

What - क्या (Asks for information about something) 

Examples: What are you doing?

                  तुम क्या कर रहे हो?

                What is your name?

                 तुम्हारा नाम क्या है?

What......for - किसलिए  (Asks for a reason) 

Examples: What did you do that for?

                  तुमने वह क्यों किया?

                  What are you emptying that bag for?

                  तुम वो थैला खाली  क्यों कर रहे हो?

Whose  - किसका  (Asks about ownership) 

Examples: Whose marker is this?

                  ये मार्कर किसका है?

                  Whose turn is it?

                  किसकी बारी है?

Why - क्यों  (Asks for a reason) 

Examples: Why didn't you come to me?

                  तुम मेरे पास क्यों नहीं आये?

                  Why are you late?

                  तुम्हे देर क्यों हो गई?

When - कब  (Asks about time) 

Examples: When are you coming?

                  आप कब आ रहे हैं?

                  When will you go?

                  आप कब जायेंगे?

Where  - कहाँ  (Asks about place or position) 

Examples: Where do you work?

                  आप कहाँ काम करते हैं?

                  Where are my books?

                  मेरी किताबें कहाँ हैं?

Which - कौन सा  (Asks about choice)

Examples: Which pen do you want?

                  तुम्हे कौन सी कलम चाहिए?

                  Which one is yours?

                  तुम्हारा कौन सा है?

How - कैसे   (Asks for a way or manner) 

Examples: How does this thing work?

                  ये चीज कैसे काम करती है?

                  How did you reach there?

                 तुम वहाँ कैसे पहुँचे?

How much - कितना  (Asks about quantity)

{Used with uncountable nouns} 

Examples: How much money do you have?

                 तुम्हारे पास कितने पैसे हैं?

                  How much is it?

                  ये कितने का है?

How many - कितना / कितने  (Asks about quantity) 

{Used with countable nouns} 

Examples: How many books do you want?

                  तुम्हे कितनी किताबें चाहिए?

                  How many bags are there?

                  वहाँ कितने थैले हैं?

How far - कितना / कितनी दूर  (Asks about distance) 

Examples: How far is your shop from here?

                  आपकी दुकान यहाँ से कितनी दूर है?

                   How far was that place?

                   वो जगह कितना दूर था?

How often  - कब-कब (Asks about frequency) 

Examples: How often do you do yoga?

                 आप योगा कब-कब करते हैं?

                  How often do you go to the park?

                 आप पार्क कब-कब जाते हैं?

How old - कितना पुराना (Asks about age) 

Examples: How old is she?

                  उसकी उम्र क्या है?

                  How old is your house?

                  तुम्हारा घर कितना पुराना है?

How long - कितना लम्बा (Asks about the length)

{Used with time or space} 

Examples: How long will it take to learn English?

                  अंग्रेजी सीखने में कितना समय लगेगा?

                  How long is this road?

                  ये सड़क कितनी लम्बी है?

How come (Informal) - क्यों / कैसे (Asks for a reason)

Examples: How come I can't meet you?

                  मैं तुमसे क्यों नहीं मिल सकती?
